The fight against Meldrik Taylor ,yeah Taylor was lightning quick but didn't land many punches,the commentators were beating Chavez more than Taylor was,but my respects for Meldrik Taylor he was a complete fighter...till this day I haven't seen a boxer with a talent similar to Taylor's talent nor Chavez's talent something that all boxers from this generation lack including Canelo

I disagree with your Taylor scoring. Taylor's head was snapping back all fight not Julio. Also, if you don't understand Lou Duva's enthusiasm you need to watch alot more HBO fights. Taylor got whooped.

I have been in boxing all my life. There have been some fantastic boxers over the years, but none more so the two most under rated undefeated champions of all, the two greats Rocky Marciano, and Joe Calzaghe, the onslaught of sheer speed and strength of these two will never me matched.

Boxing is such a great sport but a ruthless one. It can help one grow as a person and help them with self confidence and ones ability to grow as a person but at the same time it can kill you. Also to me boxing strategy is something very great to see. If you are a great fighter and keep improving with a great teacher or head trainer like in the case with a young Floyd Patterson and Cuz D'Amato you can rise up to become a great champion but then you have to deal with every other contender in your weight class gunning for you. They are preparing to give their very best against you and they will study every aspect of your style trying to avoid your strengths and exploit your weaknesses. Also over time a great champion can lose focus especially after becoming a champion and then having a handful of successful title defenses. I think this may have been the case with Floyd Patterson with his loss to Joahanssen. But it takes an even greater champion to take that loss and become champion again by going back into the gym back to the drawing board as they say to re-strategize with another game plan and defeat the one who beat you in that ring. Boxing is a physical sport no doubt but it also a very mental game.

If you really were a "glove warrior" during the first Ali / Liston fight narrative, you missed on what Ali truly almost did outside of the obvious discomfort in his eyes from the legendary conspiratorial moment of the fight in regard to LIston doing or not doing.

In case you don’t know.. Chavez said on several interviews that him and Ramirez used to spar in the gym. He mentioned that Ramirez was older that him that a well stablished boxer and the he was a young kid (a chavalo). Chavez said that Ramirez would beat him up pretty bad and that he would get off the ring crying with pain.. he mentioned that as time passed he was catching up to Ramirez and and that the sparing was so brutal that the entire gym would stop to watch them fight. He said that once he caught up, the sparings stopped.

In the Meldrick Taylor fight when the Ref stopped the fight at the end, no one ever notices that Taylor's hands/arms were still hanging on the ropes which is not allowed as a full stand up for a 10 count. So even if Steele didn't stop the fight, it should've been a 10 count KO anyways.
